Tara & Kys
Tara and Kys both were born in 1949 in France. They were very early attracted and inspired by Asia. Kys, the husband, is a printer who specializes in monoprints with Buddhist & Vietnamese influence. Tara, the wife, is a painter whose lovely works carry the influence of both countries.
From 1971 to 1974: they were co-directors of animated movies.
From 1977: they had many exhibitions in France and abroad (Lille, Paris, Rhône-Alpes, San Francisco, Tokyo, Geneva, etc.)
During 1986 and 1987: both of them were in charge of decorating the interior of the first Himalayan temple in Europe, Kagyu-Ling (France)
Since 1987, the production of many monumental settings, installations, shows, posters, etc.
1992 - The Vietnam Years: a regular and personal exhibition in Ho Chi Minh City, “Vietnam Travel Journals”.
Since 1993, the Tara and Kys Art Gallery had been opened in Ho Chi Minh City seven days a week. From 2000 to 2003, the second Tara and Kys Art Gallery was opened in Siem Reap (Cambodia – Angkor). Kys’s work is mainly beautiful mastery of calligraphic line depicting all manners of Vietnamese people, places, and things. Tara’s art is more abstract renditions in oil. The gallery carries an excellent selection of art, prints, cards and art T-shirts.
